“Eve’s Ribs” is a festival of social and documentary projects, dedicated to the topics of gender discrimination, in particular – the violence and discrimination towards women.

Women constitute the majority of population in Russia and some other countries, but, at the same time, their position in the society is a position of an oppressed group. This is indicated, for example, by the level of physical violence and verbal aggression towards them, the gender gap in salaries, the kind of jobs they are occupied in.

“Eve’s Ribs” is an educational and artistic project; its goal is to tackle the problem of silencing down such problems. We aim to provide certain skills and knowledge to women so that they could speak out about things really happening to them, and to induce the society to listen to them.
